THE BRIXTON SHORT
The verdict
Fit
Shorts cut with a trouser aesthetic; Joe's runs true to size. At this price, don't expect tailored precision—straightforward casual fit.
Quality
At $39, expect basic construction—functional seaming and fabric, adequate for seasonal wear but not heirloom-quality.
Price check
At $39, this is a budget buy for shorts; the price reflects cost-conscious construction, not poor quality.
Best for
Men needing affordable shorts for summer layup or casual outdoor activities without style pretension.
Care
Wash in cold water with like colors; tumble dry on low or hang-dry to preserve the fit.

What owners report about Joe's Jeans shorts
Coverage of Joe's shorts is thin next to the jeans line, and what exists leans on the same soft stretch denim. Owners describe the fabric as soft and comfortable, and one shorts style is reviewed positively for its comfort and elastic waistband, with shorts priced over a hundred dollars. Durability reports are mostly good — one owner says a pair "holds up to so much wear and tear" — but an editor round-up notes repeat buyers reporting inconsistencies in material stretch and thickness compared to past purchases.
- Strengths
- Owners consistently praise the soft, stretchy denim as comfortable and flattering, and say it keeps its shape after washing.
- Watch out for
- Repeat buyers report fabric inconsistency — the stretch and thickness of the same style can differ from one purchase to the next.
- Sizing
- Reports conflict: one review guide says the brand runs true to size, while another finds the fit slightly generous and suggests ordering a size down.
