Devon Boyfriend Short
The verdict
Fit
Boyfriend fit means a looser, straighter leg than Hudson's skinny lines. Expect room through the hip and thigh; runs true to size.
Quality
Standard Hudson construction at mid-tier pricing. Fabric is stable and seams are reinforced, suitable for regular rotation.
Price check
At $59, a fair mid-tier price for a recognizable silhouette with multiple size options.
Best for
Shoppers seeking a forgiving fit that doesn't cling and can transition into casualwear easily.
Care
Wash like your other denim; the relaxed cut is forgiving with minor shrinkage.

What owners report about Hudson Jeans shorts
Reviewers describe the brand's denim as notably soft and stretchy, and the shorts follow that pattern — the Amelia mid-rise is described as a fitted, near-knee-length cut in the same stretch denim as the jeans. Aggregate owner sentiment runs positive (a denim community site averages 4.46/5 across 142 reviews), with fit and comfort the most repeated praise. Complaint reviews, though, report inconsistency between pairs — some stretchy and fitted, others stiff — plus holes developing with wear and a customer-service team that often does not respond to defect claims.
- Strengths
- Owners consistently praise soft, comfortable stretch denim that holds its shape.
- Watch out for
- Complaint reviews report pair-to-pair inconsistency in fabric and fit, holes developing (including at the back pocket), and unresponsive customer service when items fail.
- Sizing
- Most cuts are reported true to size, though the brand itself advises sizing up in some of the women's skinny cuts and owners note lengths run long.
