$145

The verdict

Worth it mainly for the flannel lounge styling -- the price is high for a sweatpant regardless of the fabric detail.

Fit

Expect the brand's usual relaxed, roomy fit carried into womens sizing, likely running oversized, so sizing down is worth considering for a closer fit.

Quality

Flannel lounge fabric should feel soft and brushed, in line with the brand's general lounge quality, though it's a softer, less structured fabric than the standard fleece.

Price check

$145 for a flannel lounge pant is high relative to flannel loungewear generally, reflecting brand premium more than material cost.

Best for

Shoppers wanting a soft, oversized flannel lounge pant specifically in this brand's aesthetic.

Care

Wash cold on a gentle cycle to keep the flannel from pilling, and avoid high heat.

What owners report about ESSENTIALS sweatpants

One owner's year-long wear report found the fleece held up well: no pilling on the thighs and no thinning at the knees after regular winter wear, with the boxy-at-first fit relaxing into a straighter drape after repeated washing. The main complaint was the waistband, which stretches noticeably over a day of wear and only tightens back up after washing. Care guides separately flag the fabric as delicate, recommending an inside-out cold hand wash rather than a machine wash and dry to avoid shrinkage or print damage.

Strengths: A long-term owner reported no pilling on the thighs or thinning at the knees even after a year of regular winter wear.
Watch out for: The waistband is reported to stretch noticeably over the course of a day and only tighten back up after washing.
Sizing: The cut starts boxy and wide in the leg and relaxes into a straighter drape after repeated washing and wear.
