The verdict

A niche 3/4-sleeve henley sweatshirt worth it for fans of the brand's fleece; casual buyers should try the core crewneck first.

Fit

Expect the brand's roomy, drop-shoulder shape carried into a henley placket, with the 3/4 sleeve landing at forearm length. True to size for relaxed, size down for closer.

Quality

Sweatshirt-weight construction typical of the brand's fleece line should hold up to regular wear, though a henley placket adds a stress point worth checking before rough use.

Price check

$125 is premium for a sweatshirt, and much of that is the ESSENTIALS name on an unusual style rather than an everyday piece; fine for a fan, a stretch as a basic.

Best for

Someone who already wears the brand's fleece and wants a transitional-weather alternative to a full sweatshirt.

Care

Turn inside out and wash cold to keep any embroidered or printed branding intact; avoid high heat in the dryer.

What owners report about ESSENTIALS t-shirts

Reviewers describe the tees as heavier and more substantial than typical basics at this price point, which is called out as the line's main quality signal. The fabric is treated as delicate rather than tough: wash guides warn that heat from a washing machine or dryer can shrink the shirts, so hand-washing cold and air-drying is the recommended care routine. The cut runs boxy and oversized rather than fitted.

Strengths: The heavier cotton weight is repeatedly cited as the reason the tees feel like better quality than similarly priced basics.
Watch out for: The fabric is treated as shrink-prone under heat, so machine washing hot or tumble drying is flagged as a risk.
Sizing: The fit runs boxy and oversized; guides recommend sizing down one full size for a trimmer look, or staying true to size for the intended relaxed silhouette.
