FLEX Relaxed Fit Cargo Shorts, 13"
The verdict
Fit
Relaxed cargo fit with a 13" inseam runs loose through the seat and near the knee; true to waist size, with FLEX stretch adding ease of movement.
Quality
A best-seller in the cargo line, which generally means consistent, well-tested construction, though the cargo pockets add stress points worth checking over time.
Price check
$29.99 is budget-to-mid tier and fair for a stretch cargo short with proven demand.
Best for
Someone who wants cargo pocket storage with a looser, more comfortable fit and some stretch.
Care
Empty cargo pockets before washing and fasten any pocket closures to prevent snagging.

What owners report about Dickies shorts
Owner reviews on retailer pages split into two camps. Many describe the shorts as durable and long-wearing, with one longtime buyer calling them 'the best work shorts on the market' that 'stand the test of time' through regular use, and noting they take many washes before fading becomes noticeable. Others report the opposite: zippers failing after only a few wears, seams tearing out at the seat, and sizing that varies noticeably between pairs of the same marked size.
- Strengths
- Long-term durability and comfort in daily wear are the most repeated praise, with several owners saying a pair lasted years without issue.
- Watch out for
- A recurring complaint is zipper failure after light use, plus some reports of seams tearing at the seat and sizing that varies between pairs.
- Sizing
- Sizing isn't fully consistent pair to pair — one owner said a marked size fit closer to two sizes down — so checking recent buyer comments before ordering is worth it.
