The verdict

Premium casual short in Cotopaxi's range; good value if the relaxed cut and 7-inch length match your preference.

Fit

Cambio at the men's length sits higher in Cotopaxi's lineup. Expect a relaxed, comfortable fit in the thigh with a classic casual-short length.

Quality

At $70, this is Cotopaxi's more polished casual offering. Expect better seaming, pocket construction, and fabric weight than budget alternatives.

Price check

At the higher end of Cotopaxi's range but justified by better construction details and fabric quality. Premium casual, not luxury.

Best for

Men seeking a well-made casual short that balances comfort, durability, and everyday style without technical bells.

What owners report about Cotopaxi shorts

Reviewers who tested Cotopaxi's shorts describe light, quick-drying recycled-nylon fabric that handles water well — one tester's pair dried completely in under 30 minutes after full submersion. They read as one-pair-does-everything shorts for day hikes, swimming, and casual wear rather than rugged trail gear: the thinner material can snag or fade on high-impact terrain, and the built-in mesh liner drew chafing complaints on longer hikes in hot weather. A tester of the women's Vamos style reported all-day comfort and never needing to adjust the shorts mid-hike.

Strengths: Fast-drying, swim-ready shorts that reviewers rate highly for short hikes, water days, and casual wear in one garment.
Watch out for: The built-in mesh liner is the recurring complaint — reviewers report chafing on longer hot-weather wear — and the light fabric isn't rated for rugged, multi-day use.
Sizing: Reviewers describe the Brinco cut as a slim fit with a short inseam that may not suit larger builds.
